Our Gold Plated Jewellery
Gold plating means to cover a layer of gold on top of a base metal. All our gold plated jewellery is made with 925 sterling silver as the base metal and then plated with 3 microns of 24 carat gold.
Why Use 925 Silver
Sterling silver, or 925 silver, is a popular and high-quality alloy used in making jewellery and other precious objects. It consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals, typically copper, which is added to improve the metal's durability and strength. The addition of these alloys not only enhances the silver's structural integrity but also prevents it from tarnishing easily. Sterling silver is known for its lustrous appearance and is a cherished material in the world of jewellery, admired for its timeless elegance and versatility in design.
We've chosen silver as our base metal because it is a precious metal, has a high level of hypoallergenic properties, and is more valuable than brass. Using silver instead of solid gold allows us to offer you high-quality jewellery pieces at a more affordable price point. Using 925 silver also means that the pieces can be recycled indefinitely. We want to offer you the perfect balance between quality and value.
Our Gold Plating
We are committed to providing high-quality gold plated jewellery with a substantial layer of 24-carat gold. In most countries, our gold-plated jewellery qualifies as vermeil.
All our pieces are plated with 3 microns of 24k gold to ensure their long-term durability and brilliance. A micron, also known as a micrometer, is one-thousandth of a millimeter, or 0.001 millimeters. 24 carat gold, or 24k, represents the highest level of gold purity typically used in jewellery and investment. Gold is graded in carats (k), with 24k being the purest form.
While our jewellery is resistant to water, it is recommended to care for it in order to preserve its original shine. Here's a guide with our cleaning tips.
